ROCHESTER — Janky Gear will have more than just a new address when it reopens on July 6. Rochester’s outdoor equipment and clothing consignment shop will also have new owners. Janky Founder Paige Jehnke announced the ownership change via social media on Friday.
She shared that outdoor enthusiasts Mark and Leanne Kruse of Winona are taking the reins of the business that she launched in 2021. “Over the past three years, it has been a joy to watch our community embrace the mission of making outdoor gear affordable and sustainable. I started this business out of a love for the outdoors, and I will never look at reuse culture the same way again,” wrote Jehnke.
“I am confident that under Mark and Leanne's leadership, Janky Gear will continue to thrive and evolve, providing you with the best in affordable and sustainable outdoor gear.” The announcement of the new ownership comes as the store is moving from its original home in the Queen City Center at 204 N. Broadway to a new spot at 611 North Broadway to join the retail lineup of Kismet Consignment Fashion / Home Decor and Chappie’s Consignment for Dudes .
