Wimbledon is synonymous with many things – strawberries and cream, the colours purple, white and green, and royal family sightings. Over the years, the royals have soaked up the courtside atmosphere at the iconic tournament, delighting fans with their expressive reactions and tennis fashions.  In her role as patron of the All England Lawn Tennis and Croquet Club, the Princess of Wales has become a Wimbledon mainstay. She regularly attends games, and often presents the winners and runners up of the singles finals with their trophies. While hopes are high that Kate will attend this year's tournament, her ongoing chemotherapy treatment means an appearance is not guaranteed.



The princess made her first public appearance in six months at Trooping the Colour in June. In 2023, Wimbledon was something of a family affair for the Prince and Princess of Wales. The couple were joined by their two eldest children, Prince George and Princess Charlotte, for the men's final between Carlos Alcaraz and Novak Djokovic.
