Sir Ian McKellen kept it cool and fashionable as he was spotted out and about following his horrific injury sustained on the West End. The legendary actor, 85, was forced to pull out of future performances of Player Kings after he dramatically fell from the stage during a fight scene at the Noel Coward Theatre. Poor Sir Ian was left screaming in pain after the incident, which also saw him fall head first into an audience member , leaving them both needing treatment.

It was later revealed that the esteemed veteran of the stage and screen had injured both his wrist and his neck during the unfortunate fall. Despite the injury, the Lord of the Rings actor has remained in good spirits and has said he’s keen to get back to work very soon. And in a bid to stay fit and recover as quickly as possible, Sir Ian’s made sure to get out and about as often as he can, running errands near his east London home.



He was spotted again this week, walking between his home and the local shops, making sure to look casual and cool by wearing a fashionable scarf over his neck brace. Wearing a dark blue pair of shorts with a light blue t-shirt, Sir Ian topped off his look with a grey fedora hat and a pair of light-grey slip-on shoes. In the photographs, Sir Ian was spotted clutching a small box of amaretti biscuits as he kept his head down – he later had a Waitrose bag to hand.
