With summer well and truly underway, I’ve been on the hunt for timeless wardrobe pieces that are on-trend and will be for years to come. This can be overwhelming due to the number of styles and stores available to us, however, I knew M&S would be the one to help. M&S is one store in particular that has really stepped up its game over the past year, creating high-quality, stylish pieces that look far more expensive than they retail for.
So I headed to Marks & Spencer on Oxford Street to scout out the best summer buys and one of the first things that caught my eye was their Straw Fringe Tote Shopper, £39.50 here . A square-shaped woven straw tote , featuring fringe detailing around three sides and a heavy-duty woven handle, I knew this roomy handbag would be a summer essential in my wardrobe.
What I found so great about this tote is the size of it. It’s oversized just enough to fit space-taking items such as beach towels, water bottles and suncream, but not so large that it looks ridiculous. Another perk of the bag, which can sometimes be hard to find amongst other tote bags, is that it has a secure zip fastening.
This is personally a non-negotiable handbag feature for me as I usually stuff my handbag so full (I’m the opposite of a light-packer, even with everyday handbags) that I need it to fasten in some way, otherwise, items will fall out. On top of this, the tote has an additional zipped pocket inside, which is ideal for storing easy-to-loose essentials such as house.
