Art of Heritage has embarked on a mission to safeguard the nation’s treasured artifacts, traditional crafts, and keep its timeless stories alive.
At the helm is HRH Princess Nourah Alfaisal , the group’s tireless CEO who took on the role in 2023. “The Art of Heritage initiative plays a vital role in preserving our nation’s rich cultural techniques and traditions,” she says. “It has diligently amassed and archived a wonderful museum collection.
” The group’s collection is a treasure trove of the Kingdom’s rich heritage, featuring an extensive range of one-of-a-kind objects that serve as tangible embodiments of Saudi Arabia’s vibrant traditions, captivating history, and unique artistic expressions. In 2009, Princess Alfaisal’s predecessor, Somaya Badr, played a pivotal role in establishing Art of Heritage as an independent entity, while maintaining its affiliation with the Al-Nahda Philanthropic Society for Women, a longstanding charitable organization in the Kingdom. Founded in 1962 by HRH Princess Sarah Al-Faisal, HRH Princess Latifa Al-Faisal, Muzfer Adam, and Samira Khasheqji, Al- Nahda flourished under the patronage of honorary president Queen Effat Al-Thunayan, a pioneer in advocating for women’.
