’ After an inspired midseason turnaround to propel the Saratoga Springs varsity softball team into the State Final 4, on Friday afternoon it all came to an end. Behind four extra-base hits and a three-run fifth inning, Corning-Painted Post defeated Saratoga Springs, 6-4, in the NYSPHSAA Class AAA Semifinals at Martha Avenue Recreational Park to end the underdog’s run at its first-ever, State Title game appearance.
