Sporting Kansas City faced a 4-0 defeat against the reigning MLS Cup champions, Columbus Crew, on Saturday. The 23-year-old Pulskamp made four crucial saves, with his first significant intervention occurring in the 19th minute to deflect a dangerous cross away from two Columbus attackers.

The match's first goal came in the 32nd minute when Cucho Hernandez scored his first of three goals. Under pressure from three players, Diego Rossi managed to send Max Arfsten down the left flank, who then delivered a precise cutback cross to Hernandez. The 2023 MLS Cup MVP skillfully maneuvered inside and finished cleanly into the net, marking his third goal in as many matches.

As halftime approached, Pulskamp made two notable saves. He first stretched fully to his right to stop a long-range strike from Aidan Morris, then deflected a curling shot from Hernandez moments later. However, Columbus doubled their lead from the subsequent corner kick.

Hernandez connected with a cross from Morris and, thanks to a fortunate deflection, his first-time effort found the back of the net. The second half mirrored the first as Columbus added two more goals, ending their four-game winless streak at home. Christian Ramirez, who nearly scored in the 51st minute, secured the third goal in the 66th minute after Pulskamp initi.
