The Fourth of July is almost upon us, and that includes fireworks, live music and activities for kids around the Yakima Valley to mark the holiday. Have a fun and safe Fourth. Here’s an overview of events, from Prosser to Cle Elum and places in between: The 4th of July Community Celebration at State Fair Park, 1301 South Fair Ave.
, takes place from noon to 10:30 p.m. The family-friendly event is free to the public with free parking.
Visitors must enter at Gate 15 on Pacific Avenue. Guests are invited to bring their own picnic or buy items from over 20 food vendors available throughout the fairgrounds. A beer garden, with lawn games, will also be available for those 21 and older.
The Kids Zone will feature free face painting and activities such as a giant coloring wall, badminton, tic tac toe and more. There will also be a water features and foam pit area for kids and adults to enjoy. Six water features spray water and the foam pit will fill up at the top of every hour starting at 2 p.
m. A variety of live music performances are also scheduled at the community celebration: Aphrodisi-Yaks (classic rock) 4-5 p.m.
