A BELOVED takeaway in Co Dublin has left customers "gutted" after confirming that they will close up for the final time this week. Tony's Super Takeaway in Coolock Village admitted that the decision was one made with a "heavy heart" after decades in business. Owner Pompeo, who runs the chipper with his family, confirmed that the business will close it's doors for the final time on Thursday.
The old fashioned eatery, which had been run by Pompeo for over three decades, has been a staple in the north Dublin suburb for almost 70 years. Confirming his retirement, Pompeo said: "For now it is time for me to Retire and spend time with my Family. "I would like to thank you for your support and custom over the last 35 years.
"Lastly I would like to thank my staff Bernie, Lisa & Tony for all their years of hard work and commitment, "I will miss seeing you all everyday. Thank you again, Pompeo, Family & Team." Loyal customers of the business were left devastated by the news of its closure, with one praising the takeaway for having the "tastiest fish and chips ever".
