Francis “Chiz” Escudero as new Senate president.
Evangelista is the new head of the foundation, a position that is traditionally bestowed on the spouse of the incumbent Senate president. Mariel, being the wife of Sen. Robin Padilla, also has a seat in the foundation.
The Senate Spouses Foundation conducts charitable missions and humanitarian projects alongside the legislative work of senators. On Instagram, the Kapuso actress posted a video of the highlights of their first meeting as she teased that they are now ready to continue the civic work of the foundation. “Our very first meeting, and as they say, coming together is just the beginning.
