Adrian, from Scotstoun in Glasgow , was visiting the Trafford Centre in Manchester in June 2022 when he popped into the Kids Cavern to buy a present for his friend's child.
Outside the boutique retailer's shopfront, there was a sign stating that they did not take Scottish notes, Glasgow Live reports. And when Adrian tried to pay for the gift he had selected, he was told he could not use the cash he had brought down south. The fuming customer branded the move "discrimination" and said he called Kids Cavern's customer service but didn't get a reasonable explanation.
Speaking after the incident, Adrian said: "The Kids Caven shop put a note to say that they do not take Scottish notes. I tried to call their costumer service but they wouldn't give me a straight answer why that is." He added: "I told them is discrimination against Scottish people not to accept Scottish notes.
" The fashion boutique, which also had a store at Glasgow's Braehead at the time which has since closed, stocks designer brands include Balmain, .
