When it comes to friends in high places, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex are well-stocked. With Meghan's former Hollywood career combined with their royal status – not to mention a home in one of the most celebrity-studded neighbourhoods in California – the pair have some seriously big names in their wide circle of friends. Serena Williams remains one of Harry and Meghan's most publicly supportive pals. The tennis great's friendship with the Sussexes was on display at the 2024 ESPY Awards, which Williams hosted. She joined the couple for some photos on the red carpet, and even gave them a special shoutout during the ceremony as she kicked off the proceedings.
Meghan's friendship with the athlete well and truly pre-dates her royal relationship. The actress and the tennis superstar first crossed paths at the 2010 Super Bowl but became close friends after playing together in a celebrity sports event, DirecTV Beach Bowl, in 2014 (pictured here). Meghan has regularly been spotted courtside at Williams' games, including during her time as a working royal, while Serena has become one of the duchess' most vocal supporters.
