Dirk Kuyt admits he's been in contact with Liverpool and would be open to a return under new boss Arne Slot . Kuyt played nearly 200 times and notched over 100 goals for Dutch outfit Feyenoord - the club Slot managed the club for three years and led to the Europa Conference League final. The ex-Reds forward hinted that he'd be open to working under his fellow countryman, who joined this summer after Jurgen Klopp's departure.

Liverpool's new man in charge also has previous with Kuyt, as the forward's son plays in Feyenoord's academy and was coached by him. Currently in charge of Belgian side Beerschot, Kuyt believes Slot will succeed at Anfield and has admitted he's stayed in contact with the club, hinting he would be open to some form of potential return. Kuyt exclusively told Ladbrokes 1-2-Free: "Arne Slot is a family man, but he's also a guy who is so into football - he's 24/7 football.

If you watch his press conferences, you'll see he speaks very well and clearly expresses himself. "He can be funny sometimes, but he's also very straightforward. He knows everything about football; not only Dutch football, but you could ask him anything about football and I think he could give you an answer.

Premier League fans are going to like him. "Of course, if I can help Liverpool in any way, then I will. I've always been in contact with people at the club.

I did some work for the foundation of the club, and I've done some commercial work for them, too. I've always been close with them..
