Kiera Chaplin may not be an enduring celebrity yet, but her grandparents certainly were. The 42-year-old's family tree includes icons and legends, born into Hollywood royalty as Charlie Chaplin's granddaughter. Eugene O'Neill, the Pulitzer and Nobel Prize-winning playwright, is also her great-grandfather, but that hasn't stopped Keira from aiming to prove herself in her own right.

Growing up, she didn't realise how famous the Chaplin name was. She told The Garage Starlets that a dictionary made her aware of her family's success.



"I grew up in the same town in Switzerland where my grandfather lived from the time he fled the U.S. in the 1950s until the end of his life, so there was a Charlie Chaplin statue and a Charlie Chaplin park, and a bar named after him.
