(Image: Getty) Experts have hailed three everyday household items as the top anti-chafing remedy as temperatures across England prepare to spike. The Met Office and the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) have said a yellow heat weather warning is now in effect for most of England because of the incoming mini-heatwave.

As England braces for a mini-heatwave set to bring thermometers into the high 20s over the next few days, experts at plus-size fashion retailer Zizzi Fashion have shared their top tips to keep cool – and avoid the discomfort of chafing. Chafing occurs when two skin surfaces repeatedly rub together. With the weather turning hotter and moisture in excess, the chances of developing sores are much higher.

(Image: Getty) The experts noted applying petroleum jelly, more commonly known as Vaseline, is a top trick to avoid uncomfortable chafing. Coconut oil also helps reduce the risks of chafing as the liquid helps limit friction.

The experts added: "Additionally, people can use cornstarch to absorb any excess moisture or body sweat, with some research suggesting that it has antibacterial properties that prevent infections caused by chafing. "These three items can also be used to prevent chafing in the underarm area, or anywhere in the .
