The Easton boys lacrosse team has mastered how to handle momentum swings in its playoff contests against Parkland. The Red Rovers won the Eastern Pennsylvania Conference championship last year and an EPC semifinal this year by starting strong and then doing enough in the second half to preserve their lead. In search of its first-ever district title Thursday night at Lehigh University’s Frank Banko Field, Easton jumped out in front again and scored crucial goals in the fourth quarter to halt the Trojans’ furious rally.

The third-seeded Red Rovers led 7-1 in the first half and, after fourth-seeded Parkland trimmed the deficit to one in the third quarter, scored three goals 2:30 apart in the fourth quarter to win the District 11 Class 3A championship. “We came out guns blazing first. We’d rather punch them in the lip first than get punched,” Easton junior Cael DiSora said.



“We did that tonight and it turned out good for us.” “We went from a six- to a one-goal lead. That would have a mental toll on a lot of teams,” Easton senior goalie Ethan Lapham said.

“But I believe our team, we just really contracted in that moment. We got together and we were able to fend them off.” On the heels of winning the first district title in program history, the Rovers (18-4) will face the fourth-placed team from District 1 in the first round of the PIAA 3A tournament Tuesday, June 4.
