Trinity is set to host a doubleheader at COBO Field with the boys facing Hershey at 2 p.m., and the girls Twin Valley at 4 p.
m. Here’s a breakdown of each matchup. How they got here: The Shamrocks bypassed the first round as the top seed and used the extra rest to pummel Wyomissing 16-2 in Tuesday’s quarterfinals.
Nico Chirieleison led all scorers with seven goals while Peter Gaudion and Peyton Crecelius poured in four and three each. The Trojans also received a first-round bye and clipped Cocalico with a 12-7 quarterfinal win. Up next: Thursday’s winner gets a shot at district gold opposite Lower Dauphin or Twin Valley.
Notes: Trinity has the chance to reach the district championship for the first time since 2021. The Shamrocks defeated Susquehannock 15-6 that year, adding to their crown from 2018. Trinity advanced to the 2022 semifinals but dropped a 16-8 result to Lampeter-Strasburg.
Hershey’s last trip to the district final came in 2019 when it topped Lancaster Country Day 18-6. The Trojans revisited the semifinals in 2021, falling to the Shamrocks in 14-6 fashion. Hershey and Trinity clashed in an April 11 meeting, where the ‘Rocks rolled to a 13-4 triumph.
