In a recent interview with Harper's Bazaar, she delved into her personal connection with jewellery. “Jewelry is an integral part of our culture and heritage,” Padukone explained. Growing up in India, a country steeped in rich traditions, she witnessed firsthand the way jewellery transcends mere adornment. “We grow up watching our mother and grandmother adorning themselves,” she said.For Padukone, the value of jewellery lies not in its monetary worth but in the stories it carries. “It is not so much about the value or the price,” she emphasized, “but more about the emotion behind the jewellery.”These early encounters not only sparked a love for jewellery but also instilled a deep understanding of its emotional weight. “You know as a little girl when you see your mother or grandmother getting ready to go out for an event,” Padukone reminisces, “It forms an impression on you.”Padukone's jewellery collection reflects this sentimentality. Recalling her experience at the 2023 Oscars, she describes being captivated by a stunning pear-shaped yellow diamond necklace at a Cartier boutique. “My favourite Cartier piece is the pear-shaped yellow diamond necklace that I wore to the Oscars in 2023. I remember walking into a Cartier boutique a month before the Oscars and setting my eyes on this beautiful piece with a stunning yellow diamond. I made a note of it in my head and then a couple of days later, I got a call to be a presenter at the Oscars. At that moment, I visualised myself on stage and pictured myself wearing this necklace. It was a really special moment, and it all came together so beautifully," she said, reflecting on the serendipitous way the necklace became a part of her red carpet look.On the work front, Deepika has a busy work schedule ahead. She is currently starring in the science-fiction film Kalki 2898 AD.
