David Lynch has returned to social media with a cryptic video teasing an announcement on June 5. The filmmaker behind such movies as Mulholland Drive and Blue Velvet , as well as the cult classic TV show Twin Peaks , took to X/Twitter for the first time since December 2022 to post a video. He appeared in dark sunglasses to deliver a short message to his followers, letting them know about an impending announcement.

"Ladies and gentlemen, something is coming along...



. for you to see and hear," Lynch revealed. "And it will be coming along on June 5.

"Praying it is a new show or a new movie announcement, please lord," one person wrote , as another added : "June 5th can't come soon enough." In recent years, Lynch has directed numerous shorts and posted frequent weather reports on his YouTube channel , but his last major TV project was Twin Peaks: The Return, which premiered on Showtime in 2017. Rumors have circulated since then about what Lynch might be working on, but no concrete news has surfaced as yet.

This past April, however, Lynch told Deadline he was seeking backers for his animated project, Snootworld, after working on the script for two years with former Tim Burton collaborator Caroline Thompson. He revealed Netflix had rejected his pit.
