DALLAS — The Mavericks officially announced Saturday the deal that brought four-time NBA champion and five-time All-Star Klay Thompson to Dallas. The move was blockbuster in more ways than one: Not only did the Mavs gain another high-profile guard, but did so in historic fashion. The sign-and-trade deal was executed with five other teams, the first time in NBA history involving six teams.
The Minnesota Timberwolves, Golden State Warriors, Denver Nuggets, Charlotte Hornets and Philadelphia 76ers were all part of the deal. Here's a complete breakdown of who got what: The Dallas Mavericks announced today that they have acquired 5-time All-Star Klay Thompson and a future 2nd-round pick as part of a six-team sign-and-trade deal in exchange for Josh Green and a future 2nd-round pick. It marks the first six-team trade in NBA history.
