Wednesday, May 22, 2024 The Magnificent Mile Association, the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, and Special Service Area 76 are pleased to declare the advent of ‘Flight of Butterflies’ to The Magnificent Mile. ‘Flight of Butterflies’ is a fascinating citywide exhibition that mingles art, nature and technology in an organized manner. This exclusive enterprise features 29 spectacular butterfly sculptures dispersed all over Chicago, with 10 adorning the well-known Magnificent Mile.

Tourists to The Mag Mile can not only appreciate these lovely sculptures but also immerse in a ground-breaking augmented reality involvement. Kimberly Bares, the President and the CEO of The Magnificent Mile Association said that they are thrilled to associate with the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum and SSA 76 on this exhilarating inventiveness. ‘Flight of Butterflies’ is an exclusive and lovely way to bring art, nature and technology in a combined fashion in the center of Chicago.



Ten grand butterfly figures, encouraged by the royal fritillary and eastern tiger swallowtail butterflies, will adorn The Magnificent Mile for the next year. Visitors are asked to go on board a delightful 30-minute walk along Michigan Avenue to explore all ten creations, each made by gifted Chicago artists. Erin Amico, the President and the CEO of the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum said that ‘Flight of Butterflies’ is more than only an art display.

It’s a call to action to safeguard butterflies and their enviro.
