Carl Edwards never expected to be named to the NASCAR Hall of Fame, but now that he’s on his way to Charlotte, he’s filled with immense appreciation for the honor. Speaking with the media after being revealed as part of the NASCAR Hall of Fame Class of 2025, the former Roush Racing and Joe Gibbs Racing superstar took some time to reflect on when he found out about the news. “I thought the chances of this were basically zero, and I am humbled.

I’m grateful,” Edwards started . “I wasn’t even, I was in the air at 4 p.m.



I knew that’s when they were gonna reach out to people. But I thought, ‘Oh, there’s no chance.’ And we landed and my wife said, ‘You need to check your phone.

’ I called Randy Fuller, and he was just ecstatic. To me, the feeling was surprisingly overwhelming. I cannot tell you how big of an honor it is.

And just for the last few days, I’ve been walking around with so much gratitude. “So many people have reached out to me. I got to talk to Jack Roush.

I got to talk to Joe Gibbs. You know, so many crew members and people that just poured their whole lives into my career, and I’m so grateful.” While Edwards recognizes he didn’t end his career in the most ordinary fashion, he’s thankful for the opportunity to reconnect with the sport after some time, and rekindle the flame that is his love for NASCAR.

“Everybody’s in something. They’re in some battle, they’re in some job. They’re working.

They’re working for their fami.
