The first edition of BOTSFEST, an event to celebrate Botswana's rich cultural heritage through music and fashion will take place on October 26. The event will be held at the Wagga Gardenex in Gaborone. The organisers said the event will boast a 100% local artists line-up, fashion displays and cultural exhibitions.

Part of the event tickets proceeds will be donated to charity, supporting orphans and vulnerable children. They said they have embarked on a three-months campaign to promote the event. "What the event seeks to answer is a celebration of Botswana’s culture (ngwao), music (mmino), and fashion (kapari) inspired by the traditional three-legged pot, which symbolises the unity of these three elements.

By bringing together these diverse elements of our heritage, BOTSFEST will not only entertain but also educate and inspire, ensuring that the legacy of Botswana's unique identity thrives for generations to come. The event proudly celebrates, promotes and supports 100% Botswana products and services in line with #PushaBW," read a statement from the organisers. During the BOTSFEST, attendees will have the opportunity to fully immerse themselves in the rich heritage of Botswana.

They will experience traditional games, savour authentic Setswana cuisine and classic beverages, and explore cultural exhibitions that celebrate the country's vibrant history. The organisers said the festival will also feature a dedicated kiddies section, offering culturally enriching activities desig.
