A dazzling prelude to the Araw ng Maynila 2024 festivities, Rampa Manila 2.0 happened on June 19 at the Bulwagang Rodriguez at the Manila City Hall. With the theme “Textile, Texture, and Technique,” Filipino designers highlighted the immense contributions of Divisoria, the historic marketplace for all creatives, and “transformed its rich fabrics into stunning fashion, blending tradition and innovation.

” ​“Rampa Manila is now on our second year. Absolutely a dream to work with this year’s lineup of designers: Val Taguba, Jhobes Estrella, Marc Rancy, Neric Beltran and Anthony Ramirez,” said designer Bang Pineda. ​“As the creative head of this project, it was a big challenge for me to put together this monumental event.



But through the efforts and full support of the Department of Tourism of the City of Manila headed by Mama Charlie Dungo and, of course, Mayor Honey Lacuna, we were able to stage our first Rampa Manila fashion show,” added Pineda. ​The inaugural edition in 2023 featured designers Albert Andrada, Marlon Tuazon, Puey Quinones, Jo Rubio and Michael Leyva. ​This year’s selection of creatives are just as accomplished: Val Taguba, who brought drama and theatricality owing to his years perfecting his craft in the Middle East; Neric Beltran, the “conscientious fashion designer of garments (and flowers)”; ​Marc Rancy, the designer of chic clothes with a dual master’s degrees in fashion from Paris; Jhobes Estrella, the designer “whose .
