Shocking videos from inside the venue showed punters desperately holding tarpaulins above their heads as they sheltered from the downpour at the Groupama Stadium in the latest stop on the London band's Music of the Spheres world tour. Hundreds of standing fans looked exhausted under the hoods of heavy-duty coats and ponchos, while others had sacrificed their views to cover themselves in tent-like structures.

But even these hadn't stopped them from getting soaked through - as rain from above the shelters cascaded onto those nearby and bedraggled hair matted around their bewildered faces. And while they struggled to shelter from the rain, flood waters within the stadium could be seen to rise as fans splashed through the deep floods in fashion trainers.
