Scotland legend Ally McCoist believes Germany striker Niclas Fullkrug would be an excellent addition to the Premier League. The Borussia Dortmund frontman is joint-top goalscorer at Euro 2024 despite not starting any of the three group matches. Fullkrug came off the bench to score a stunning goal in the 5-1 victory over Scotland and then equalised with a brilliant header in the 1-1 draw against Switzerland.
While Spain duo Nico Williams and Lamine Yamal have impressed McCoist, as a former striker, it is Fullkrug he has enjoyed watching the most. "Nico Williams has been different class," McCoist told talkSPORT.com.
"By the way, he had an opening 20 minutes, I swear to God, against Italy. He was unbelievable, that opening 20 minutes against [Giovanni] Di Lorenzo. "Dear me, he was tremendous.
I mean, he was brilliant the whole game, but the opening 20 minutes was fantastic. He'd be terrific [in the Premier League]. Obviously, the young kid Yamal, on the other side, is great as well.
"But the one I'd like to see is Fullkrug. I have no doubt he would score goals in the top-flight in England. I like him.
"I don't like using the term old-fashioned centre-forward. But he's a proper centre-forward. "He brings people into play, can go in behind, powerful, attacks things in the box.
I think he'd be a tremendous signing for somebody." Fullkrug has been the subject of interest from Premier League sides in the past, with West Ham one team to have scouted him recently. When he left Werder B.
