Many jobs have a busy time of year. For retail it is the holidays. Hotels host big conventions and in Chico many merchants are busiest during graduation weekends.
For our team at International Training Programs, time flies by when the group arrives from foreign countries. When I’m busy/busy, my mother knows to send only quick texts and to not be offended if it takes days to return a phone call. I neglect my cat, leave dishes in the sink and worry about whether I have forgotten this, that or the other thing.

A hike in Bidwell Park is usually on the list of options, and this month there were more hikers than could fit into my Honda Civic. Friends agreed to be additional drivers and due to the heat, a wise friend suggested a shaded trail.
The steep chug up Monkey Face would be my normal plan, but our friend Kim knows the Yahi Trail. I might be exaggerating, but it seemed like she could have walked the trail on a moonless night. For whatever reasons, I’ve never explored this trail.
I presumed it was mostly used by mountain bikers, or maybe I was afraid of getting smacked.
