It’s a fabulous place to go for a Sunday stroll or a weekday evening catch-up. You can head there for a picnic and it’s great for families because there’s a play area for kids.

The views there are spectacular. Coole Park This is right on my doorstep. It’s steeped in history as the previous home of Lady Gregory.

Literary greats William Butler Yeats, George Bernard Shaw, John Millington Synge and Sean O’Casey all came to experience the expansive forest, green fields and local wildlife. The woodlands offer multiple walking trails or you can visit the red deer. Afterwards, pop into Coole Park Tea Rooms for refreshments before heading to the walled garden, which contains the famous autograph tree and beautiful landscapes.
