BROOK PARK, Ohio - The 2024 Brook Park Home Days kicked off three days of festivities on Friday, July 12, featuring live music, sports tournaments, and a plethora of carnival games and rides. Attendees enjoyed beautiful summer weather as they participated in the beloved community event, which opened at 6 p.m.
on Friday and continued from noon to 11 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday.
The festival, held near Brook Park City Hall at 6161 Engle Road, offered a variety of free entertainment, including live music. The weekend was Highlights included a lively parade and a dazzling fireworks display. The festival also embraced old-fashioned family fun with a pie-baking contest, softball and bocce ball tournaments, a hot dog-eating contest, and the Jr.
Miss and Miss Brook Park pageants. Mayor Edward Orcutt told the News Sun that the number of rides and vendors was on par with previous years, ensuring a familiar and enjoyable experience for the community. The mayor expressed his enthusiasm for the festival, saying his favorite event is the fireworks.
“I am most excited about the enjoyment our residents experience throughout the entire Home Days weekend,” Orcutt said. “Live entertainment, the smiles on all of the faces during the parade, the cheers from the crowd during the hotdog eating contest, and my personal favorite - fireworks.” The midway was bustling with an array of amusement rides that thrilled children and adults alike, from the towering Ferris wheel to the exhilarating Scr.
