High street favourite Primark has released a new product that bears a striking resemblance to a brand adored by Kate Middleton and other celebrities. Primark's , available in black and camel, are priced at £18. They have a strong similarity to the much-loved and more expensive from Castaner, which sell for £115.

In an article on the much-loved shoes, highlighted how Castaner Espadrilles have long been a celebrity favourite, dubbing them a 'summer staple'. And they even have the royal seal of approval with Kate Middleton, who often wears them for summer engagements, also loving the shoes. Both the high-end Castaner pairs and the more affordable Primark ones feature a wedged heel with a plaited rope design.



They also both boast a sturdy ribbon that winds around the wearer's ankle and slightly up the leg. The primary difference between the shoes, aside from price, is the material used to cover the toes. The Castaner brand utilises a thick cotton-like material for full toe coverage, while Primark opts for a crocheted straw-like material, reports .

On the Primark website, the retailer describes the wedged sandals as 'the perfect summer heel' that could 'quickly become a staple in your collection'. The shoe has a 'rustic' feel with its neutral colours and materials that contrast well with the front of the shoe. Primark even suggests that the heels can 'elevate' any look.
