Last week in eTravel, we featured a story on the trial of three “fancy dongas” along a closed road in Kings Park. The tiny cabins are in Forrest Drive, which is closed for Lightscape. It has brought a lot of response from readers.

AN OUTRAGEOUS BLIGHT How on Earth has our beautiful park, our “park for the people”, been allowed to become a commercial advertisement? For that is what it is. Premier Roger Cook is calling it a trial; however, only one company has been chosen to “trial” its tiny-cabin style accommodation with their logo emblazoned across the surrounding fence. Leaving aside the ridiculous pricing of the single-room cabins, this is just an outrageous blight on our beautiful park.

Closing the roads, blocking off sections of the walkways around Kings Park to erect a hideous structure is just ridiculous. It is peak tourist season, school holidays, and people should be able to walk, explore and enjoy our park. One of the greatest features of Kings Park is the accessibility.

People can walk or drive, and in the case of the elderly or infirm, be driven, and view the magnificent Swan River, the city skyscrapers and the wonderful pla.
