Wednesday, July 3, 2024 Wizz Air , Albania’s largest and most environmentally sustainable airline globally, along with Tirana International Airport, celebrated the fourth anniversary of the opening of Wizz Air’s base in Tirana yesterday. On 1 July 2020, the airline opened its base in the Albanian capital and over the past year alone, it has provided nearly 5 million people with affordable travel opportunities to and from Tirana International Airport. This summer, Wizz Air will station 13 state-of-the-art Airbus A320 family aircraft at its Tirana base, making it one of the largest and most successful bases in its network.
Since starting operations, Wizz Air has transported a total of over 12 million passengers to and from Albania and now operates flights to over 50 fantastic destinations in 16 countries.
