Friday, July 5, 2024 The Tourism Department, in collaboration with various line departments and key tourism stakeholders of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, is set to host the “Monsoon Tourism Festival–2024” with the vibrant tagline #rhythmoftherains. This festival aims to promote the Andaman Islands as a year-round tourist destination and features a series of exciting events and activities designed to attract visitors even during the monsoon season. The festival will commence with a Road Show on July 12, 2024, followed by celebrations on July 13 and 14 at Corbyn’s Cove from 3 pm to 9 pm.

This annual mid-July event seeks to challenge the notion that beaches are only suitable for water sports and swimming by showcasing a variety of activities that can be enjoyed throughout the year. By promoting the islands as a destination that offers diverse experiences, the Tourism Department aims to reduce the seasonality of tourist visits and enhance the economic benefits of tourism throughout the year. The Monsoon Tourism Festival will feature a variety of engaging activities and events: Food enthusiasts can look forward to numerous live food stalls, providing a culinary delight that adds to the festive atmosphere.

Additional attractions include: Stalls will be available for a fee of Rs. 2500 per day plus GST. Interested parties are encouraged to collect application forms from the Planning Cell of the Directorate of Tourism and submit them with a security deposit of Rs.
