AURORA, Colo. — The Colorado Air National Guard will perform fighter jet flyovers over a large part of the state Thursday to celebrate Independence Day. The 140th Wing of the Colorado Air National Guard will conduct flyovers in Lake City, Silverton, Rico, Telluride, Redstone, Granby, Greeley and Firestone on Thursday.

The F-16C Vipers will takeoff at Buckley Space Force Base in Aurora and fly between 10 a.m. and noon.



The Colorado Air National Guard said the flyover times are estimates and could also be canceled due to weather. The aircraft may also be seen between these locations as they transition between Independence Day celebrations. Colorado 4th of July Flyovers The aircraft will perform flyovers in the following locations: 10:45 a.

m. - Lake City 10:50 a.m.

- Silverton 10:53 a.m. - Rico 11 a.

m. - Telluride 11:12 a.m.

- Redstone 11:24 a.m. - Granby 11:35 a.

m. - Greeley 11:38 a.m.

C., and flyover times are coordinated with event staff. The flyovers do not cost taxpayers any additional money because they are a part of training for pilots.
