Saturday, May 25, 2024 Virgin Australia has achieved a post-COVID record in operating performance for both the completion of scheduled flights and on-time departures in April. This success follows significant investments in managing operational performance in a challenging post-COVID environment. To celebrate this achievement, Virgin Australia and Velocity Frequent Flyer have launched a Discover Gold Status Match offer.
Travelers who hold Gold Status or above in airline loyalty programs that are not Velocity partners are invited to apply for a Velocity Discover Gold trial membership. The offer is limited to the first 3,000 eligible applicants. Additionally, Australian small and medium-sized businesses are encouraged to join Virgin Australia Business Flyer.
This program offers two Velocity Pilot Gold memberships (subject to spending criteria within the first three months) and the opportunity to earn Velocity Points for both the business and the individual traveler. The program has grown its membership five-fold over the past two years. Velocity Frequent Flyer now boasts over 12 million members, equating to one member in every Australian household.
Virgin Australia has recorded the best on-time performance and highest completion rates of any major Australian airline in April, marking a significant performance improvement over the last four months. To further recognize this improvement, Virgin Australia has launched a Discover Gold Status Match offer for up to 3,000 Velocity mem.
