Friday, June 14, 2024 The number of passengers handled by Flughafen Wien AG continued to rise in May 2024, with total passenger volume in the Flughafen Wien Group (Vienna Airport, Malta Airport, and Kosice Airport) increasing by 8.0% to 3,745,915 travellers. Vienna Airport alone saw a 5.
3% increase, reaching 2,844,748 travellers compared to the same month last year. At Vienna Airport, the number of local passengers grew by 7.1% to 2,198,949, while transfer passenger traffic slightly decreased by 0.
6% to 638,092 travellers. The number of flight movements in May 2024 rose by 6.2% year-on-year to 21,709 take-offs and landings.
Cargo volume also saw a significant rise, up 20.4% from May 2023 to 24,362 tonnes. Details on Passenger Traffic Flughafen Wien AG’s strategic investments also performed well.
Malta Airport saw an 18.2% increase in passenger volume, reaching 858,402 travellers. Kosice Airport handled 42,765 passengers, marking a 0.
