Uttar Pradesh is set to become a premier destination for spiritual tourism as Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath spearheads the development of 12 major tourism circuits, focusing notably on the spiritual circuit. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to tap into the state’s rich religious and cultural heritage, thereby attracting both domestic and international tourists.
A comprehensive action plan has been meticulously crafted to foster tourism within the spiritual circuit. The Uttar Pradesh Tourism Department has already begun preparations to implement this detailed strategy. Key components of this action plan include conducting surveys of tourist destinations, performing gap analyses to identify areas for improvement, and emphasizing adherence to the UP Tourism Policy Document 2022.
This policy prioritizes standards based on the 7 S’s: Suchna (Awareness), Swagat (Welcome), Suvidha (Amenities), Suraksha (Safety), Swachthta (Cleanliness), Sanrachna (Infrastructure), and Sahyog (Support). Uttar Pradesh has made significant strides in its tourism sector in recent years, emerging as a key destination that attracts visitors from around the globe.
