Monday, May 27, 2024 United Airlines is set to introduce a new nonstop service between its hub at Washington Dulles International Airport (IAD) and Palm Springs International Airport (PSP). This seasonal service, which begins on December 19th, marks the first time PSP will have a direct connection to the nation’s capital. Tickets for the new route went on sale last week.
The new route will feature one daily flight, operating through April 30, 2025. United will use the Boeing 737 MAX 8 for this service, which can accommodate 166 passengers in a two-class configuration. United First offers 16 recliner seats with a pitch of 37 inches and a width of 20.
4 inches in a 2-2 layout. United Economy includes 150 standard seats in a 3-3 layout, with 54 seats designated as United Economy Plus, offering more legroom. The aircraft is equipped with WiFi, power outlets, and seatback screens featuring a variety of inflight entertainment options.
Passengers can also stream IFE content on their own devices. Patrick Quayle, United’s Senior Vice President of Global Network Planning and Alliances, highlighted the significance of the new service: “This service will be the first connection ever between Washington, DC and Palm Springs and create unparalleled access to Palm Springs from the East Coast and Europe through one of United’s fastest-growing hubs.
