Thursday, May 23, 2024 The most underrated brewery in Ireland, the Smithwick’s Experience in Kilkenny City, has announced a new attraction aimed at boosting its appeal to tourists. This development provides another compelling reason for travelers to discover this hidden gem. Smithwick’s Experience has expanded its offerings with the introduction of the Masters of Ale Experience.
This new experience includes a sensorial tasting masterclass, a pint-pouring tutorial, and a historical journey showcasing the Smithwick family’s significant contributions to Irish ale. The 75-minute tour is scheduled for Friday and Saturday evenings, with additional Thursday evening tours starting in June. Each session concludes with a guided tutorial in the bar on how to pour a perfect pint of Smithwick’s, with participants receiving an engraved Smithwick’s glass as a keepsake.
Ignacio Peregrina, the Manager of Smithwick’s Experience Kilkenny, expressed delight at launching the new premium experience. He highlighted that the Masters of Ale Experience is designed as a pre-dinner or night-out activity, aimed at bolstering the night-time economy in Kilkenny City. The tour, being the last of the day, allows visitors ample time to fully immerse themselves in the multi-sensory experience.
The new experience is targeted at both culturally curious visitors and beer enthusiasts, promising an immersive journey into one of Ireland’s oldest and most popular ales. Peregrina mentioned that trial par.
