The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) and the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) have signed a strategic partnership to develop and empower the Next Generation of Aviation Professionals (NGAP). The occasion was marked by the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) by His Excellency (H.E.
) Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi, Director General of the GCAA, and Mr. Juan Carlos Salazar, Secretary General of ICAO, on 24 May 2024 at the GCAA’s office in Dubai. This strategic partnership aims to address the critical challenges facing the aviation industry by focusing on three key pillars: – Attracting, educating, training, and retaining the next generation of aviation professionals.
– Promoting the empowerment of women in the aviation industry. – Developing education and sharing expertise through collaborative initiatives. Saif Mohammed Al Suwaidi expressed his enthusiasm for the partnership, stating, “This collaboration marks a significant milestone in the joint efforts between the UAE and ICAO to foster a comprehensive and advanced aviation sector.
