Wednesday, May 22, 2024 Turkish Airlines , the national flag carrier of Türkiye, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the World Tourism Organization (UN Tourism), a leading international agency for tourism under the United Nations. The signing ceremony was attended by the Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to the Kingdom of Spain, Mrs. Nüket Küçükel Ezberci.

This agreement signifies a commitment from both parties to collaboratively promote sustainable tourism and civil aviation worldwide. As the world’s most extensive airline, Turkish Airlines will work alongside UN Tourism to advance common goals. The focus of this partnership is on sustainable tourism practices, aviation development, and enhancing cooperation between the public and private sectors to improve air connectivity, particularly in developing destinations.



Both entities will utilize their expertise to share knowledge and conduct case studies on topics like sustainable aviation fuel. Commenting on the signing of the MoU , Turkish Airlines Chairman of the Board and the Executive Committee, Prof. Ahmet Bolat, added: “We are excited to set out on a journey to forge a strategic partnership with UN Tourism in order to achieve our shared objectives of promoting sustainable tourism and enhancing global connectivity.
