A traveller has sparked fury on the internet after refusing to let another passenger sit between him and his wife on a flight. The man detailed the situation in a Reddit post, explaining that he and his wife were flying from Dublin to Washington DC. The couple were assigned the middle and window seats while the aisle passenger never showed up so they ended up having the entire row to themselves.

Over the next four-and-a-half hours of the flight, the man explained that the flight attendants were “amazing and gave us extra drinks for the ‘guy in the middle’.” There was three hours of flight time remaining when the things took a dramatic turn.
A random passenger from the aisle seat across from the man announced her friend, who was sitting a few rows back, would now be taking the middle seat between the couple because she needed to get away from a crying baby. “She did not ask — she told us this was happening,” the disgruntled man said. The man then proceeded to ask the woman whether the flight attendants were aware, to which the woman said yes.
