Thursday, June 6, 2024 Commuters traveling through East London on the Elizabeth line are experiencing significant disruptions due to a broken track at Ilford. This issue, which has led to the implementation of a speed restriction, is causing severe delays for passengers throughout Thursday. The delays are affecting the section of the line between Shenfield and Paddington, as confirmed by Transport for London (TfL).

Track Defect Causes Widespread Delays The defective track at Ilford has necessitated a speed restriction, meaning trains must operate at reduced speeds on certain sections. National Rail Enquiries posted on social media platform X, explaining that the speed restriction is due to the defective track and that this is causing train services running through Ilford to be canceled, delayed, or revised. Passengers are being warned to expect disruptions until the end of the day.

Additional Delays on the Piccadilly and Bakerloo Lines In addition to the Elizabeth line issues, passengers are also facing delays on the Piccadilly Line due to a points failure at Northfields. This has resulted in severe delays between Acton Town and Uxbridge, as well as minor delays for services en-route to Heathrow Terminals. Furthermore, the Bakerloo Line is experiencing minor delays while TfL engineers work to fix a signal failure at Lambeth North.

Morning Commute Affected by Elizabeth Line Delays Starting from the early morning, Elizabeth line trains running between Heathrow and Gidea Park in.
