Israel is launching a brand new online system called Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA-IL) to simplify the entry process for visitors from countries that don’t require a visa. This will significantly reduce wait times and frustrations for tourists entering Israel. Phased Implementation The program kicks off with a pilot phase starting June 1st, 2024.
During this initial stage, travelers from the United States and Germany can apply for the ETA-IL completely free of charge. This allows the system to be tested and refined before a wider rollout. On July 1st, the program expands to include visitors from all visa-exempt countries, providing a smoother entry experience for a wider range of travelers.
The ETA-IL becomes the mandatory entry requirement for all visa-exempt visitors on August 1st, 2024. There will be a small application fee of approximately $7 USD starting at this date.
