Saturday, June 15, 2024 Air India is set to launch a new direct flight service between Vijayawada and Mumbai, starting today. This new service, flight number AI 599, will have a seating capacity of 180 passengers and will operate daily, enhancing connectivity between these two bustling cities. Flight Schedule: The introduction of this new route is largely attributed to the efforts of Machilipatnam MP and Gannavaram airport advisory committee chairman, Vallabhaneni Balashouri.

Recognizing the need for direct connectivity between Vijayawada and Mumbai, he actively lobbied the Union Civil Aviation Ministry. His request resulted in a swift approval, and the ministry issued an order for the service just a day before the announcement. Balashouri will inaugurate the new flight service at Gannavaram airport on Saturday, marking a significant milestone for the region’s air travel infrastructure.

This new direct flight is a game-changer for the people of Vijayawada and its neighboring areas, including Guntur, Ongole, and Eluru. Here’s how it boosts air travel and benefits the region: From an aviation perspective, the introduction of this direct flight enhances Air India’s domestic network and reinforces Vijayawada’s position as a critical node in India’s air travel map. The daily operation of this flight ensures steady traffic and provides Air India with a stable route that can serve a diverse group of travelers, from business executives to tourists.
