TAKE a look at the charming sunspot with watersports, ziplines, wine tasting, blue waters and 34C heat. Little-known gem Punat - a town on the island of Krk in Croatia - has a population of just 2,000. The town itself is on the southern side of Krk island and resides next to an unusually deep bay called Puntarska draga.
In the middle of the town's bay is a tiny island called Kosljun which can only be reached by boat upon request. The temperature rarely drops below 26C at night and is usually around 30C to 34C during the day. Punat's small narrow streets lead to typical seaside houses with arched doorways and taverns.
The area is well-known for its olive tradition and almost every family in Punat has its own olive grove and makes its own high quality olive oil. Even the access road to Punat is through a long corridor of olive groves. Sailors will feel especially welcome here as there is the biggest and the oldest marina on the Adriatic Sea is located here, and it can accommodate around 1,200 vessels.
There are many activities available for tourists who venture to this Island such as boat trips to nearby islands along with diving and snorkelling. There is a water ski centre and even a wakeboard ski lift. The underwater park where visitors can dive and swim alongside marine wildlife should be on everyone's bucket list.
The underwater park is perfect for anyone even with no experience diving or even swimming so it suitable for all. With a sailing centre for people to take excursi.
