TAKE a look at the stunning beach that's just minutes from a busy fishing village - with golden sand and life guards on duty during summer. Fintra Beach is just a 3km drive to Killybegs fishing port - one of the highlights of Donegal 's south-west coast. The beach is 1km long and is sheltered under tall dunes and grass hills within Fintragh Bay.

Visitors can see as far as Donegal Bay and even Benbulben mountain in Co. Sligo on a clear day. The beach is sandy and backed by dunes and vast grassy hills.

This beach is the perfect family day out as it has so many extra activities on during the summer months to keep your little ones occupied. There's beach games organised in summer and the endless soft sand is perfect for sandcastles.

It is important to note that the beach does also have toilets available. The blue flag beach is certified by the Foundation for Environmental Education once it meets the expected standards. Fintra Beach is one of 85 .
