With plenty of Aussies still travelling , new research has unveiled some of the quirky tactics we are using to safeguard our money while on holiday. While digital payment methods are on the rise at home, it seems when it comes to being on the road there are many sticking to the 'old ways'. According to the research by Mastercard, a quarter of Aussies (26 per cent) admit to hiding their cash in unusual or hard-to-find places.

Another 13 per cent hide it in their underwear. Wearing a money belt is another tactic used by some travellers, with 10 per cent of Aussies revealing they use an AirTag in their purse or wallet.
While the hotel safe remains another popular option, 32 per cent of travellers said they use a 'secret' compartment in their suitcase to stash their cash. A trip to the beach can make it tricky to carry cash on you if you're keen to take a dip. One in five (18 per cent) would ask someone to keep an eye on it while they take a dip at the beach.
