Travel season is upon us with Aussies preparing to flock to Europe for summer. But when it comes to getting from A to B there are some airlines that rank higher in experience. Airlineratings.

com has released their annual report for 2024 ranking the top airlines around the world this year as part of their Airline Excellence Awards. To determine which airline takes the crown for the number one in the world, the product rating site looks at different factors including fleet age, safety rating, passenger reviews, profitability, product rating, innovation and forward fleet orders. Taking all these into consideration, the site has officially ranked the top 25 airlines.



Read on to find out who took the top spot this year.  Starting off the list at number 25 was American Airlines. According to AirlineRatings.

com editor-in-chief Geoffrey Thomas, the lower ranking for US airlines came down to "high fleet age and very poor passenger feedback" he told Forbes . Next on the list was another US airline –United Airlines. United Airlines has become one of the largest air carriers in the world since it first launched in the 1920s.

 Coming out on top this year amongst the US airlines was Delta Air Lines. Earlier this year Delta was crowned with the most punctual airline in North America according to Cirium data . Coming in next was the first non-American airline on the list.

Canada's largest airline Air Canada ranked as the 22nd airline in the world for 2024. Next on the lis.
