Saturday, May 25, 2024 A helicopter carrying six pilgrims encountered a technical issue, prompting an emergency landing near Kedarnath Temple. Early on Friday, a helicopter transporting seven individuals, among them six pilgrims and a pilot, was forced to execute an emergency landing due to a mechanical fault. The incident took place just short of the helipad near Kedarnath’s Himalayan temple, as confirmed by an official.

The mechanical issue was identified in the helicopter’s rear motor, leading the pilot to land safely just a short distance from the designated helipad. Thanks to the pilot’s quick thinking and calm demeanor, a potential disaster was successfully avoided. Following the emergency landing, all aboard were reported safe.



The pilgrims even completed their visit, having “darshan” at the temple. The event occurred around 7 am, with ongoing investigations to determine the precise cause of the technical difficulty..
